Hello!

With the holidays approaching, I'm doing a lot of buying for other people, and not a lot of buying for myself. This isn't a bad thing - I love giving gifts to those I love! But it does means I've created a small wishlist of fabric and other sewing related things, which I've fallen in love with!

First of all is the beautiful Hedwige shirt pattern from Republique du Chiffon. It is described as 'a very comfortable boyfriend style loose fitting shirt. It suits any material and is ideally worn with trousers or a skirt. Its making has been simplified to streamline the cuff assembly, which makes it accessible for beginners who want to start shirt making.' As I've never made a shirt before, I thought this would be the perfect place to start! Have you tried this pattern before? If so, I'd love to see some pictures!

Next is this beautiful fabric from The Fabric Fox. It is designed by Jen Allyson, from her collection 'Yes Please'. It is £3.75 per fat quarter, which means a meter would be £15. It is pricier than I would usually buy, but I have heard great things about the quality of this fabric, so hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on some in the New Year!

This striped jersey from Sew Over It is a classic print, and I'd love to make a simple top from this! Maybe the Plantain pattern? Black and white stripes are a staple in my wardrobe, so I want to spend a little more on good quality fabric as I know it would be getting a lot of wear. I hope to slowly start making more of my own clothes, until the majority of my wardrobe is handmade. It will take a while, but I think it's a good goal!

Finally, I've been loving these beautiful pins from The Crafty Mastermind, this one in particular! It is a dainty little enamel pin of a pair of stork scissors, which I think is the perfect little nod to sewing without being too much! This would make a lovely gift for the dressmaker in your life (I'm currently writing a blog post full of little gift ideas!), as it is thoughtful and also not too pricey at £9.95.

I hope you have enjoyed this little look into some of the things I've been loving recently, the actual list is much longer!
